GLKS Turkey Fly  2007          Slideshow        (Show starts off slow, give it time)

As in the past, we held our Thanksgiving Turkey fly on the 3rd Sunday of  November.  It was chilly  and the wind was just right to fly our "fowl" kites.

Todd amused us again with his turkey decoys.  We seem to draw one or two turkeys from out in the crowd with Todd pulling the string to bob the head of a full size turkey.  This year a huge gobbler was seen with his seat belt on!  No.  We didn't even ask!

Afterwards many of us went to the Olmpia Restaurant for a great...you guessed it...turkey dinner.  A good fly, good food, and good friends.  What kite flyer could ask for more.

GLKS Kidz N Kitez  2007

It was a perfect kite day, warm and sunny with gentle breezes. NO, that was last year!  Cold and windy was the order for this years fly at Reservoir Park in Niagara Falls. Plenty of nose-dives were seen all over the field as the gusty wind knocked down several kites. Deltas seemed to be the kite of choice although one of the most stable kites was Todd's "Barrel". When the wind kicked up too strong, the Barrel just straightened out more thus relieving the pressure.

The number of Kid'z was down from last year. Some of them still managed to cross paths with the kite-eating trees. Ellen was the hit of the day.  Without a hand brace she put a short -line Rev in the air and showed us all who was the boss with a great display maneuvers. Judging from the smiles on all our faces, the day was a good time to fly and enjoy your friends.  Welcome back, Ellen!
